The End of "Fox & Rat" Virtual Series

Well... Cassie and I did it! We finished "Fox & Rat" Virtual Series after 10 years of writing and writing and writing. The finale, the second installment episode, is called "The Final Super Spectacular Adventure of Fox and Alex" - yeah, really long title and so fitting for all that happens in it! I even worked my bum off these past couple of days to get the end credits/thank yous rolling... so be sure to check that out at the end of the episode (or just go to our trailers page). Personally, I'd like the thank the readers of FRVS here on my FList, even if you haven't read us in years and used to - THANK YOU!

FRVS FINALE EPISODE TRAILER

MPEG (MAC/PC) (11 MB)
Windows Media (PC) (4 MB)
RealMedia (PC) (3 MB)

10x11 "The Final Super Spectacular Adventure of Fox and Alex"
Written by: Cassie & Kristi
Air Date: November 28, 2009
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Earth is facing annihilation and it's up to Fox and Alex to save the day!
www.foxandrat.com

FRVS END CREDITS

MPEG (MAC/PC) (45 MB) <--BEST QUALITY!!!
Windows Media (PC) (7 MB)
RealMedia (PC) (6 MB)

So what is in store for the future of FRVS... just because it is the end, doesn't mean that Cassie and I aren't going to do a prequel season, short stories, and possible movies... you'll just have to stay tuned to the website or frvs.

And with all this free time on my hands now... what ever will I do? Well, I've got oodles of fan video ideas to do, website re-designs I can hunker down on and well... I even may write, though I probably won't right away.

Enjoy the final episode and thanks to all of you who have supported FRVS in the past, present and future! *hugs*

Kristi

FRVS Season 10 Premiere Day!!!!!!!

The final season of FRVS has started! Today marks the 10 year anniversary of FRVS... yes, we started this back on September 5, 1999 - I remember it, it was the day "S.R. 819" re-aired for the first time, and I love that episode. It was the day we first started making websites, with the silly little side called "Fox & Alex Build A Website", which had the adventures of Mulder and Krycek, which are what brought on this silly 10 year writing spree of a series! And today is the beginning of the end. I don't know what to feel about this. I'm happy, excited, sad, nostalgic, and just pure out of my mind that the only stress I have right now is for the 3rd episode because I haven't finished it yet (I will today). It's just amazing that we've come this long.

Season 10 promises to deliver what everyone loved about FRVS in the good old days, yet still with the drama and action that happened later in the series. So stop on by and read the final season premiere of FRVS: "City At Sea"

"Fox & Rat" Virtual Series
frvs
FRVS Discussion Forum

*contented sigh*
Kristi

FRVS Movie 2

Well, Cassie and I have been working hard on the second FRVS Movie, and have actually just released the air date and title today! Be sure to mark your calenders for July 17, 2009 so you won't miss a moment of the three-part movie, "Save The Future". I just posted the press release over on frvs.

This year has been a hard one for us and we're finally able to hunker down and get back into FRVS, which hasn't been easy. You know how it is when you haven't written anything in SO LONG! I have to retrain myself how to write. That's been my weekend so far.

We're also anticipating our final season to premiere on September 5, 2009 - exactly 10 years since we made our first website, Fox & Alex Build A Website (previously on a free server) and began "The Adventures of Fox & Alex", which is now what we all know as "Fox & Rat" Virtual Series.

I seriously can't believe I've been doing this for 10 years! Feels like only yesterday that Cassie and I wrote the first ever FRVS episode (before we even decided to make it a series with continuity!), "Lucky Charms vs. Cheerios". *sighs* Oh the good ol' days!

Anyway... I'd also love to see some of you head on over and join the fun at the FRVS Forum (now proudly hosted on the Serenity of X Forum). We've got general discussions, spoilers for the upcoming movie and season 10, and all the fun times on Goofy Spooky! Come join us!

And now it's off to have something to eat so I can work hard on the next part of the movie!

Kristi

Season 10 Underway

Well season 10 has yet to air, but finally Cassie and I have a grip on what we are doing. Took us nearly a year to finally figure out the best way to work our final season. I'm loving it! I wrote a bit of 10x01 last night and I really think it'll be interesting for our readers. I can't wait to finish the season and start airing episode.

Because of my writing muse last night... the next interview for the hiatus will be a bit late... should be up tonight, but I thought writing 10x01 was a priority. :)

Anyway... I just wanted to stop in and say a little "whoohoo! we're underway" to let you know that we still are holding ourselves to our February 9, 2009 premiere date. :)

Hope everyone has a safe holiday season!

Kristi

NEW FRVS Forum URL!

Just a small notice/announcement that the FRVS Forum has been having some issues lately that could not be resolved. So in the grand tradition of the FRVS forum we have lost all posts, members and yadda yadda. But fear not fellow Super Buddies, there is a new forum for all of you to migrate too and register!

NEW FRVS Forum: http://www.foxandrat.com/forum/

Hope to see you there!

Kristi

Season 9 is over!!

Whew! Season 9 is finally over... it was the season from H.E. double hockey sticks! But I do like it, I'm glad we took our time, and I promise not to have such a long season for season 10. It's always been a goal of mine and Cassie's to get our seasons done without delay and to have plenty of time to spare. We started out good, then got behind and were behind until the very end! That's very stressful and frustrating so I'm very glad this past season is over.

I'm really looking forward to our final season, numero 10! It's going to be good and we are going to start writing it this month! Yes, this month, January. :) The more ahead we get, the better it'll be... and less stressful which is always a plus! FRVS is pretty much my New Year's Resolution... get it done in good time. According to the plan we should have all season 10 episodes done BEFORE the season airs! Then we'll start writing the movie... movie did I say? Yes, movie. :) We are planning a final movie for after season 10. :)

Anyway... just wanted to poke in and say howdy-do to everyone.

Kristi

Working hard!!

This weekend I worked very hard on my FRVS episode. I finished 9x15, Cassie started on 9x16 and last night after I watched "Desperate Housewives" I worked on 9x17. We are planning on have 18 episodes this season, so that means we're almost done! I worked hard for many reasons... We're going to be out of town in the middle of this month and still want to try to get things up on time, and the finale of our season will be on November 5th, which is the first Garth Brooks concert to hit Kansas City and we've got tickets for one of his concerts! I know that if we fall behind, there's going to be no way to recover after that excitment! LOL I was amazed just to write this weekend after all the ticket buying hype. :D But yeah, expect all remaining episodes to be on time, as scheduled until the end of the season.

We don't have a date set for season 10 yet, but I can assure you that season 10 is definately going to happen. We'll keep you posted about that.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the new episodes back, 9x13 "Blood Drops" and 9x14 "Colony". I think they're pretty good episodes. :)

Have a great week!
Kristi

www.foxandrat.com

Hiatus coming to an end soon...

Well, I hope you've all been patient with FRVS and the re-runs to help you get through the hiatus. It's coming to an end closer than I thought it would... tempus fugit, right? Well, I must admit, I've been a bad writer when it comes to FRVS and have been writing other stories... but I'm thinking that maybe that will help me get other shit out of my head so I can sit and focus on my FRVS episodes. *sighs* It's really such a task to do, but I do love to do it... especially when it's all said and done. :)

I've got one story outside of FRVS that is in beta mode right now, and the other I've uploaded to my website (Creative Refuge). It's a Rohrer/Reyes (you know I love the unconventional!) story that takes place after "Empedocles" in season 8 of "The X-Files". Check it out if you wish:

"One Last Night"
by Little Albatross
Rating: Rating: PG-13
Category: Reyes POV, Rohrer/Reyes
Timeline: post-Empedocles and Three Words
Spoilers: None.
Summary: It’s a very dangerous time and all they have is one last night together.

So that's what I've been up to... oh, and putting up the all new look and location of Fox & Alex Build A Website *giggles* I burned a few calories making this site because I was laughing so hard! A new page was added for "Star Wars" because FRVS Mulder and Krycek love those movies... and there's some silly manipulations in there too, be sure to laugh at them! :)

Let's see... I've also brought back a couple of sites: Don't Not Believe (Reyes site) and Master Sergeant (Rohrer site).

But now all the fun and games has to stop and I must write! I want to write. I want to get it done because I love the story that we are telling. So, with that I must go and start to write. I've been writing it all by hand right now, but I'm thinking that that is slowing me down a bit. I tend to think more quickly when I type so I think today is the day to move my story to the computer and complete it here!

Until next time... be sweet to each other!

Kristi

www.foxandrat.com

One can't help but laugh...

I've gotten to the point where we're so behind on FRVS that I can laugh at it and not stress about deadlines. I think that's a good thing because lately I've really started to miss writing FRVS.

As for a return date that is stable until the end of our season... I can't make any promises on that but it'll be posted at FRVS the moment it is decided.

I do want to stress that we will be finishing FRVS until its very end, and I promise that season 10 will be better than how we've been this season when it comes to meeting our deadlines. :)

Anyway... a big ol' thanks to everyone who has continued their support! *hugs*

Kristi

Oh holy cheeses this feels good!

FRVS is finally back with an all new episode! After months, weeks, days of problems preventing me from writing I got it done. Seriously, the episode is up now and I finished two hours ago. :) I feel like the weight of the world is off my shoulders! Whoohoo! I might just do a happy little jig of a dance! *does happy jig*

I don't know if I've talked about this here, but so many things got in the way of coming back... computer problems (that I'm still dealing with), food poisoning (from my own cooking at that!). But finally that's all behind me, I can move forward and get this season ending! Man I can't wait for this season to end. I love it, but I hate it at the same time... seriously, I hated working on "AWOL", but now I love the episode. :) And I hope all of you like it as well... it took a lot of energy I don't have right now to deliver this episode.

Anyway... go read it, stop by the forum, frvs, drop a line here, use the feedback form (that way we archive all feedback which we haven't been getting at all this season).

Go read 9x12 "AWOL" because it rules and you're all special Super Buddies who should read it too!

Kristi

A secret about tomorrow's update...

Don't get too excited, it's not that big of a secret.

9x12 will not be airing tomorrow as it was planned. I'm so sorry to have to do this, but real life gets in the way... I know, I know... I've said this plenty of times.

Writing takes a lot of time and energy. 9x12 is the 185th episodes of FRVS in our 9th season of writing. So yeah, it takes a lot of time and Cassie and I want this season to be great for you guys, so I apologize for doing this again. I really hope it doesn't have to happen again. Believe me, as frustrated as I'm sure you all are, I'm even more frustrated because I haven't been on time at all this season. It takes a lot to write the episodes, make the graphic for the episode, maintain the website, Special Access, and the forum and be expected to get episodes up on time.

I just wanted to say I'm sorry and I hope you all can forgive me. This season hasn't been easy on me as my life hasn't been easy on me.

Kristi

PS: This is not an April Fools Joke... I wish it were, but it's not.

FRVS is back!

FRVS finally returned from the unexpected hiatus this Monday with 9x09 "All Is Calm, All Is Bright". :) Great episode by Cassie, be sure to read it. :)

Anyway... so I've been procrastinating as usual with FRVS, and currently working on 9x11 "Enemy Territory" that will air on March 26th. I always seem to write myself into a rut... well, not actually a rut, rather I start to get lazy and don't feel like thinking. That's bad, isn't it?

To help procrastinate my time when I'm not writing FRVS, I started working on the season 10 layout. :) I shouldn't have, but I did. It's still early, so who knows... the design could change. I'm not going to mention what it looks like or how it "feels" because that may give away something for the feel or plot happenings in season 10. But I love it! You see, I've been looking at the current layout for season 9 since September 2005. Yes, September 2005! I'm sick of it! LOL Needless to say, the season 10 layout is rather refreshing and crisp. :)

Big decisions were made about the future of the site too when going in to plan the design and navigation and yadda yadda... it's more simplified. :) I really got myself into a mess with this new layout... mainly the amount of content! Holy moly! There's a tone! And if you aren't a member of the fan club, well, there's a lot more in there too! For next season, a lot of things will be moved to mailing lists... like the update mailing list and the fan club mailing list will actually carry all the content from the Special Access section... everything! Big changes, welcoming changes. My hope is that it'll actually make updating easier, hence forth making my life less stressful on Mondays! LOL

Anyway... I need to go to the grocery store so I can get food to help me write... need that energy to think!

Be sure to check out 9x09 "All Is Calm, All Is Bright" at FRVS! Be sure to join in on episode discussion over at the forum (NOTE THE NEW URL: foxandrat.com/goofy)!

Kristi

www.foxandrat.com

More about the extended hiatus

By now you have read on frvs, the forum, or through your e-mail that FRVS is going on hiatus again until March 12th. I wanted to extend my apologizes for falling so far behind. Life truely does happen everyday. Believe me, I wish I could be a kid again and not have responsibilities and just be able to write, write, write like I was able to back in the day. However, bills need to be paid, jobs need to be made.

With this hiatus we really hope to buckle down and write these episodes. Our hope and goal is to come back on March 12th and have non-stop episodes until the season finale. Truely, keep your fingers crossed, it's not that easy to do. Writing is very time consuming and frustrating.

I do want to say that we DO NOT plan on stopping the series cold. Hell no, we've been in this since 1999, we best finish it because we love our plan for the end.

Just stay patient with us, episodes are coming.

Kristi

www.foxandrat.com

Power Writing Surge...

Out of the blue my creative writing got a surge of energy and just poured out.

All season long I've been behind on my deadlines... but last night/early this morning I just wrote. Everything that was in my head for this episode came out. This is the best feeling ever and I hope I can keep this kind of energy up. :) It's a great thing... I can't wait for the episode to air... it definately mixes things up and there's some huge changes going on. Kind of a dark episode too... but it's really awesome. I shouldn't talk it up though... I could jinx myself. LOL

Let's hope this power surge will continue!

Kristi

www.foxandrat.com

Place where the star fell to Earth...

One of my favorite episodes so far this season aired this week, "Dharb al Najem" (9x07). This episode was so easy for me to write. It really only took me two days once I really got going. :) I hope you all liked it.

What I love about this episode is how perfectly the idea came to be... it really all fell into place when I was searching online about caves in the Saudi desert. I came across a caved called "Dharb al Najem" which was translated to "Place where the star fell to Earth". All I thought was, wow, the Middle East really works well with my thoughts. I knew I wanted this episode to be about Montgomery's past and his time in the Middle East, but I never thought I'd find something this cool about it! LOL I started to base the episode around caves. Montgomery discovered a cave back in the 80s. Monica, Brad and Comer are in a cave across the world in Colorado. I decided I would tie that group with Montgomery, which is when we found out what actually happened to Monica when she was in the Facility in season 7.

If there's one thing I love about writing (yes, I do love writing even when I do tear my hair out!) its weaving everything together. It's such a fun process. I haven't written much of anything outside of FRVS this season so my brain is really just a mess of ideas and thoughts about the season. Luckily, I'm able to put all my focus and energy (when I have it) on organizing and thinking of many ways to weave everything together. :)

Anyway... I hope you all enjoyed the episode. It's a personal favorite of mine... maybe because of the Middle East, or maybe because it's all about John Montgomery and he's my favorite (other than Grandmama Reyes) original character. :) Or maybe it's because I just love to get my hands on under developed characters and run with them. :)

Kristi

www.foxandrat.com

Fandom Meme...

This meme has been going around on LJ for TV shows, so I thought I'd do it for FRVS. :)

1.The first character I first fell in love with
Krycek. Alex Krycek.

2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now
Knowle Rohrer.

3. The character everyone else loves that I don't
:\ Err... well, I write all the characters so I love them all too. :)

4. The character I love that everyone else hates
Well, seems some people have warmed up to Knowle Rohrer... so I'm going to have to go with John Montgomery. He's such a fun character to write for. :)

5. The character I used to love but don't any longer
Once again, I love 'em all. :)

6. The character I would shag anytime
I can't pick just one... Krycek, Doggett, Knowle. :) At the same time? *devious grin* Maybe. ;)

7. The character I'd want to be like
I relate to Grandmama Reyes... for starters, she knows all (just like a writer).

8. The character I'd slap
Marita Covarrubias... though she's gotten much better, I still would like to slap her for her past behavior. Oh, and Krycek. He can be a prick sometimes. But when it really comes down to it, I'd like to slap the Smoking Man - that dirty devil...

9. A pairing that I love
Rohrer/Reyes - they've got an interesting past.

10. A pairing that I despise
Smoking Man/Scully - that bastard... well, you've all ready season 7 right?

The holidays are over!

Well, my holiday is over. Mom and Dad came up for Christmas and we visited with relatives. Very nice, and the long road trip did me some good. I was able to map out and organize my thoughts on six or seven episodes that I have to write this season still. Can you believe that I still have more episodes to organize and map out?? I think I have about 10 or more episodes to write this season.

My new year's resolution in terms of FRVS is to meet my deadlines with episodes. Wish me luck, this has been a goal of mine since season 3 of our series! LOL writer's block can be horrid! I'm behind though (again) but I'm going to work hard this weekend on my next episode assignment. :) That will feel good to get that load off my back.

Well, I just wanted to drop in and let you all know we're still here! I hope everyone had a warm and safe holiday!

Kristi

PS: Don't forget that FRVS returns from hiatus on January 22nd!

Delay... delay... delay...

Even when we try to stay on top of things, real life events force us to delay episodes! Yes, I know, I hoped I wouldn't have to do it this season, but the way I see it, its better to have the episodes how we want them rather than rushed and horrible. That's understandable and we want to bring the very best to all of you, our readers. :)

Though there will be no new episode on Dec. 4th, we will have some new seasonal extras! I've worked hard on these... wallpapers and a new featured character of the month!

During this delay, we are going to be working hard to get caught up and stick to our schedule. Every season we have a schedule and we've never been able to stick to it because of other things going on. So this season's goal is to get back on track. :) Not as easy as it sounds, these deadlines we give ourselves are truely deadlines!

Anyway, take advantage of the delay to catch up on the season if you haven't be able to read. 9x05 "Memento" is a great episode and I can't wait for it to air. It'll also be our last episode of 2006 because we'll be going on our usual winter holiday hiatus from Dec. 11th until Jan. 22nd (my birthday btw). We come back with some exciting episodes too. :)

Ciao!
Kristi

Working hard!

Life has been busy lately so I have been guilty of neglecting my episodes of FRVS. Right now I'm working on 9x08 which will air in the new year. :) It's been a tough episode for me, but I'm starting to warm up to it, good thing for that. :)

I know many writers out there have strange things they do when writing... well, maybe not strange (though I'm sure there are starnge things), and one thing that I always do is have "mood music". For this episode I'm listening to James Newton Howard's score to "Lady In The Water". I adore his music. He's done film scores for "Vertical Limit", "Signs", "The Village", "The Sixth Sense". What I love about his score to "Lady In The Water" is that it's so powerful and has a sense of hope and strength that ordinary people have. If you've seen the film, you know what I mean. The mood really fits the episodes that we're writing this season. Honestly, don't be shocked if I do another trailer to this music. It's absolute brilliance! I mainly write episodes to his scores. Last year's "Keep Your Enemies Closer" was written to his score from "The Village", but also with a dash of music from "Space: Above & Beyond" by Shirley Walker (you know, the military themed stuff).

And did you know that I use music from "Signs" and "The Village" in the season 9 trailer? Yep, big fan of James Newton Howard, maybe its his use of the french horn, I played that when I was younger and always had such boring pieces that neglected the instrument.

Anyway, I best be getting back to my writing so we can deliver these episodes you on in good time.

Kristi

Knowle's Middle East experiences...

I hope you all enjoyed this week's new episode, "Shut Down". I was a bit inspired by "War of the Worlds" when I wrote, the classic film from 1953. Anyone catch on to that? :) I'm a big fan of classic movies, what can I say?

Anyway, I wanted to talk a bit today about the beginning scene where Knowle rants about his time in the Gulf War and when he and some friends went AWOL and snuck over to the little country of Bahrain, which is located in the Arabian Gulf. As some of you may know, I use to live in Saudi Arabia. I practically grew up there when the family moved there on Halloween night in 1991. Believe it or not I didn't have culture shock at all... well, not until I moved back to the states in 1998. LOL Anyway, I really got on a rant at the beginning of this episode with Knowle talking about his time in Bahrain. There really is a place over there called Señor Paco’s. It truely is great Mexican food, and I can tell you why. A lot of Texans move over to that area of the world because of oil companies. That's how I got over there, the Aramco oil company hired my dad.

I wanted to share with you guys some photos I took when I lived over there. Knowle talks about a monument that is in the center of a round-a-bout when you first enter Manama (Bahrain's capitol). It's called The Peril Monument. Bahrain is famous for perils. It's a beautiful monument and I don't think my words really capture it.

Pretty isn't it? And unfortunately I don' thave any Arabian sunsets that Knowle speaks of. I never had a camera for that so, like Knowle says in this episode, I have only what's in my memory. It truely is beautiful. If anyone out there has seen the movie "Jarhead", it doesn't even capture what it looks like... too many clouds in the sky. It was always hazy from the dust and sand. It was so incredibly breathtaking, I truely took it for granted because I saw it all the time.

And the air conditioning comments made in this episode and how you get goosebumbs... that's true! At school we didn't have a cafeteria so all the kids got to go home for lunch. I always rode my bike to school (yeah, in that kind of heat! Oh man it sucked! LOL) and when I'd come back to school it would feel like 40 degrees. *shivers* It was really 75. LOL But it truely felt like winter.

If you want to see more of my photography, check out my website, littlealbatross.com. I've got some from the Middle East (mainly Bahrain since I was a tourist there), Europe, and the United States.

Oh and I can't forget! Happy Birthday to my sis, Cassie. :)

Kristi

www.foxandrat.com

But wow! Season 7 takes the cake!

There you have it!
Kristi

www.foxandrat.com

No more re-runs, just all new episodes!

Wow, I can't believe season 9 is already here. It seems like only yesterday I was stressing over my last episodes of season 8. Now I'm stressing of writing my season 9 episodes. For the record I'd like to point out that I am totally in love with what we have planned for season 9. The great thing about it is, we've never done anything like it before. :) In a way, we've re-invented ourselves... again. It's a very fresh season to write and it's lots of fun.

So how am I coming on my episodes? Well, Cassie and I have the first 7 episodes written, and she's got episode 9 written. Episode 8 is my episode and I'm having a bit of motivational problems. LOL Hopefully I'll over come that now that the new season has started and we have started to get feedback in for our episodes. Thanks to everyone who has sent in feedback for our premiere, "Darkness Falls". You don't know how hard it is to write over the hiatus with nothing coming in. LOL Feedback is a major part of inspiration and motivation.

Well, the second episode airs today, "Ad Noctum". I totally love this episode. Cassie and I wrote it "together" (we weren't actually sharing a pen at the same time LOL) and it reall is one of my favorites this season. We get great Krycek and Marita action and major developments with Scully. This episode makes me love her more. I hope you all enjoy it.

Kristi

www.foxandrat.com
